
Sandakan is set to initiate Malaysia’s first historical tree trail on June 28, with plans to enter the Malaysia Book of Records.
The initiative, supported by the Sabah Forestry Department, will be officiated by Sandakan Municipal Council President Walter Kenson and feature 42 tagged trees along the Sandakan Heritage Trail.
Chief Conservator of Forests Datuk Frederick Kugan was briefed about this during a courtesy visit from Sandakan Heritage Trail Chairman Lai King Hang at his office.

The event is organised by the Sandakan Heritage Trail Committee and Sandakan Tourism Association (Stan), with support from local authorities and voluntary groups.
