Earlier, we shared that the 2025 National Service Training Program (PLKN) will involve Malaysians aged 16 to 35, and that attendance is compulsory for those selected.
Now, with PLKN entering phase 3.0, 206 trainees from Series 2 didn’t show up for duty on May 11 at the Regiment 505 Territorial Army Camp in Pekan, Pahang.

Those who fail to show up will face legal action
The good news is that the trainees are getting a second chance to show up by noon on May 16.
However, those who still fail to show up will face legal action, including imprisonment and fines.
Deputy Director-General (Training Sector) of JLKN, Brigadier General Zainudin Bahari, stressed that PLKN trainees who fail to report will be required to provide a valid reason for their absence, as reported by Malaysia Dateline.

The matter will be brought up with the PLKN Council
If their excuse is not reasonable or unacceptable, the trainees who didn’t report will be subject to Section 18(1) of the National Service Training Act 2003. If convicted, the individual may face imprisonment of up to 6 months, a RM3,000 fine, or both.
Zainudin confirmed that the matter will be brought to the National Service Training Council to discuss the trainees’ failure to report.
