KOTA KINABALU: More than 200 veterans and local residents of Tanjung Aru came together at Aeropod for a special National Day dinner, celebrating unity, patriotism, and community spirit.
The event, hosted by the Tanjung Aru Native Association and attended by guest of honour Dr. Ritchie Jay Cheng, featured a nostalgic video montage, poetry recitations, and awards to honour local figures who contributed to the community.
Association Chairman Haji Khalid said the gathering was not only to mark Malaysia’s independence but also to pay tribute to the sacrifices of earlier generations and strengthen bonds amongst the people of Tanjung Aru.
The night’s strong turnout reflected the enduring pride and love for the nation, with organisers hoping the spirit of patriotism continues to flourish amongst future generations.
