MANILA, Philippines —The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) reported that over 28.58 hectares of the Navotas sanitary landfill have been burned due to the ongoing fire.
According to its satellite image released Tuesday, PhilSA said as of April 16, the estimated burned area from fire—which reportedly started on April 10—has reached about 28.58 hectares, or roughly the size of an area slightly larger than the Quezon Memorial Circle.
They added that the image has since been submitted to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) to help prioritize areas for response.
