Kota Kinabalu: More than 3,000 participants and observers are expected to attend the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Convention 2026 at Dewan Tun Mustapha in Kudat this Sunday.
GRS Secretary-General Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the gathering on Oct 18 would serve as a key platform to deliberate on political strategies and sharpen the ruling coalition’s election readiness ahead of the 16th General Election (GE16).
The convention, which marks the first time the annual event is being hosted outside Kota Kinabalu under a new rotational district system, will feature a keynote address by GRS Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor alongside sharing sessions with six deputy chairmen representing component parties.
Armizan noted that discussions would centre on two primary agendas, namely GE16 political strategies and an evaluation of progress on both the coalition’s manifesto and the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development roadmap.
He added that an online channel managed by the GRS headquarters secretariat had been arranged to allow grassroots and division leaders unable to travel to Kudat to submit their views and feedback.
