MANILA, Philippines—Over 30,000 drivers and riders in Manila will begin receiving their P5,000 cash assistance starting Tuesday, March 24, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno announced Monday.

During his Facebook live broadcast, Moreno said the beneficiaries include drivers of motorcycle taxis (MC taxis), Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS), public utility jeepneys (PUJs), and delivery riders.

The aid will be distributed through the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program, which allocated a portion of its P30 billion budget to aid transport workers amid the rising fuel costs.

Starting March 24, 6 am to 5 pm at Kartilya ng Katipunan, 2,629 TNVS will receive their financial aid, 2,488 PUJs on March 25, 21,127 delivery riders on March 26 and 27, and 3,989 MC taxis.

Moreno urged the beneficiaries to strictly follow the schedule and instructions provided to avoid delays.
