
A total of 540 Agniveers of the seventh batch successfully passed out from the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) Regimental Centre during an impressive attestation and passing out parade held in Srinagar on Saturday.
Set against the backdrop of the Kashmir Valley, the ceremony marked the culmination of months of rigorous military training and the transformation of young recruits into soldiers ready to serve the nation.
The parade was reviewed by Lt Gen PK Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC), White Knight Corps, who complimented the Agniveers on their immaculate turnout, synchronised drill movements and high standards of military bearing. Senior Army officers, civil dignitaries and family members of the recruits attended the event.
An Army spokesperson said the attestation ceremony symbolised the Agniveers’ commitment to the values of duty, courage and selfless service after undergoing intensive physical training, tactical instruction and character-building programmes.
“The passing out parade reflected the professional excellence, discipline and rich military traditions upheld by the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre,” the spokesperson said.
Addressing the newly attested soldiers, Lt Gen Mishra exhorted them to uphold the highest traditions and values of the Army and remain steadfast in their service to the nation. He lauded the Agniveers for the determination, resilience and dedication displayed during their demanding training period.
The Corps Commander also commended the training staff and instructors for their efforts in shaping the recruits into disciplined and combat-ready soldiers.
During the ceremony, the Agniveers took the oath of allegiance to the Constitution and the nation before marching past with confidence and precision. The event concluded with the customary salute as the National Flag fluttered over the parade ground.
Army officials said the successful completion of training by the seventh batch of Agniveers marked another important milestone in the Army’s efforts to build a new generation of motivated, disciplined and technologically proficient soldiers.
