TUARAN: Infertility treatment at the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) clinics has shown positive results, with 6,249 successful pregnancies recorded through its services, according to the agency’s 2024 performance report.

Chief Minister's wife, Datin Seri Juliah Salag, who is also Mutiara-GRS President, said 29,163 individuals have received treatment nationwide, with the Fertility Treatment Assistance and Infertility Advocacy (Buai) programme now targeting 30,000 couples.

She said 1,300 couples would receive financial aid for up to two cycles of intrauterine insemination (IUI), supported by the “The Sooner, The Better” campaign that promotes early check-ups and treatment.

Juliah shared the figures at the Caring Programme: From Family to Community, held in conjunction with the state-level launch of Buai at Dewan Sri Sulaman on Wednesday, the final stop of the statewide series.

She added that one in six married couples in Malaysia face fertility issues, and praised participants from Sulaman, Pantai Dalit, Tamparuli, and Kiulu constituencies for joining the event to strengthen awareness of family well-being.
