A significant milestone has been achieved as over 80% of Malaysia's civil servants, totaling 1.2 million out of 1.5 million, have registered with the Central Database Hub (Padu) system, according to Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Mohd Uzir Mahidin.

Expressing gratitude for the civil servants' cooperation, Mohd Uzir commended their commitment, which he described as commendable. He extended congratulations to those who have completed the registration, making civil servants among the first to do so. For those who have not yet registered, possibly due to work constraints, assistance will be provided to facilitate their registration.

Mohd Uzir made these remarks during a briefing on Padu to the Orang Asli community in Kampung Sungai Penjuring, also attended by Pahang Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) director Razaman Ridzuan.

Previously, media reports indicated that all civil servants were required to register and update their data with Padu by February 15. As of the latest update, 3.43 million individuals have updated their information in the Padu system.

Regarding the Orang Asli's involvement in Padu registration, Mohd Uzir stated that more than half of the approximately 220,000 Orang Asli have registered, with good cooperation from the Orang Asli Development Department (Jakoa). Pahang, having the highest number of Orang Asli at over 80,000 people, is expected to complete its registration within a week or two, while Terengganu's registration is nearly finished.

To facilitate registration, 209 physical counters have been opened in various locations in Pahang, with over 184,822 individuals recorded updating their information. Pahang DOSM has also organized over 1,000 field trips to provide information and assistance for locals to update their information on Padu.

The Padu system was launched on January 2, allowing Malaysians aged 18 and above to register and update their personal information until March 31. With more than 40 days left to register, Mohd Uzir reminded the public to do so to avoid congestion in the system.

Bernama, the national news agency, reported that the Padu system has seen significant engagement since its launch. Malaysians aged 18 and above are encouraged to register and update their personal information to ensure they are included in the database.

Mohd Uzir emphasized the importance of every individual's participation in the inclusive development of the country. He praised the Orang Asli community for their proactive approach in reminding each other to register with Padu, highlighting their role in the registration process.

As registration continues, efforts are underway to reach out to more communities and provide assistance where needed. The DOSM is committed to ensuring a smooth registration process for all Malaysians.

With the deadline for registration approaching, it is essential for everyone to take the necessary steps to register and update their information. This will not only help in avoiding system congestion but also ensure that everyone is included in the central database, contributing to more efficient governance and service delivery.

As the registration deadline of March 31 draws nearer, it is crucial for all Malaysians to participate in the Padu registration to avoid any last-minute rush or system congestion. This will enable the government to have an accurate and up-to-date database of its citizens, which is essential for effective planning and service delivery.

The success of Padu registration among civil servants and the Orang Asli community is a testament to the importance of the initiative. It demonstrates the willingness of Malaysians to contribute to the nation's development by ensuring their information is correctly recorded in the central database.

In conclusion, the high participation rate in Padu registration is a positive sign for Malaysia's future. It reflects the commitment of its people to support government initiatives and build a more efficient and inclusive society.
