KOTA KINABALU: More than 90 per cent of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) graduates with National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loans have begun repayment.
PTPTN Chief Executive Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid said 64,848 UMS borrowers had completed their studies and contributed RM642.73 million in repayments as of July 31 this year.
In total, 83,440 UMS students had received PTPTN loans amounting to nearly RM1.67 billion since the scheme’s introduction.
He said the encouraging repayment rate reflected the graduates’ sense of responsibility towards sustaining the fund for future students.
Ahmad Dasuki made the remarks at a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between PTPTN and UMS on Wednesday.
