AMPANG JAYA, March 8 — Approximately RM745,000 has been allocated to the Hulu Kelang state constituency in conjunction with the Ramadan fasting month.

Its coordinator Juwairiya Zulkifli said the amount includes a contribution of RM565,000 from Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI to support the Ihya’ Ramadan programme.

Meanwhile, the remaining RM180,000 is designated for the distribution of RM200 vouchers to 900 families through the Jom Shopping Hari Raya Aidilfitri programme.

“For the Ihya’ Ramadan programme, we are providing assistance to 45 places of worship, including eight mosques, each receiving a contribution of RM20,000.

“The rest will be distributed to 37 suraus and musollas to facilitate religious activities throughout Ramadan,” she said during Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari’s walkabout at the AU 1 Ramadan bazaar yesterday.

Juwairiya added that Jom Shopping Hari Raya Aidilfitri recipients will receive their vouchers on March 23 to help them prepare for the upcoming celebration.

“We are currently identifying eligible families. Hopefully, this aid will help make their Aidilfitri celebrations more joyful,” she said.

This year, the state government has allocated 36,350 RM200 vouchers for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which will be celebrated at the end of this month. This is part of a total allocation of RM12 million.
