MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President and Vice President Sara Duterte’s defense team declined to comment Thursday after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. authorized the Bureau of Internal Revenue to release the tax records of Duterte and her husband, lawyer Manases Carpio, to the Senate Impeachment Court.
“No comment,” defense lawyer Michael Wesley Poa told The Manila Times.
The BIR submitted the tax records to the Office of Senate Secretary Rey Bantug, clerk of the impeachment court, in compliance with the court’s subpoena.
