MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President is seeking a P785.204 million budget for 2027, marking an 11.7 percent cut from its P889.236-million appropriation this year.
In a statement released Wednesday, the OVP said the proposed budget includes P561.651 million for operating expenses, with P193.103 million set aside for goods procurement and livelihood assistance under MagNegosyo Ta ’Day and other service programs.
It also provides P220.232 million for personnel services and P3.321 million for capital outlays, while P15.544 million for retirement and life insurance premiums will be automatically appropriated.
Among the programs listed for funding are Libreng Sakay, Pagbabago Campaign, Disaster Operations and R.I.I.C.E. Food Bags, which are expected to cover millions of commuters and tens of thousands of beneficiaries.
The OVP also pointed to its 43.07-percent obligation rate as of June 30, higher than its 41-percent target, as it defended its capacity to implement programs despite the lower proposed allocation.
