Chelsea hero Joe Cole believes Fiyako Tomori was dropped because of his pace wasn't needed against Valencia
Frank Lampard elected to use Andreas Christensen instead of Tomori for the important clash at the Mestalla, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
"Runs in behind [is the best way to exploit Chelsea]," Cole said on BT Sport.
"They set up to have the ball and keep possession, so when you do that you're playing in an expansive way.
"Rodrigo in particular is going to have to run in-behind.
"His movement's great, his timing's good, he's always in there and he's probing.
"Valencia are a team that will try and overload.
"I doubt whether they've got the power in their legs, the sprinters in the team.
"They've got threats but it's not like you're playing against, [like] at the weekend, a Raheem Sterling.
"I don't see anyone with that explosive pace to run away.
"Maybe that's why Frank's gone with Christensen instead of Tomori, maybe he can just sure it up, I don't know."
