Owen Cooper is preparing to make history at Soccer Aid just weeks after collecting major acting honours.
The 16-year-old will become the youngest ever player to feature in the annual charity match.
Soccer Aid takes place on Sunday, 31 May at London Stadium, home of West Ham United.
Cooper’s inclusion adds another milestone to what has already been a breakthrough year.
Owen Cooper to become youngest ever Soccer Aid player
Cooper will be just 16 when he lines up for England at Soccer Aid, making him the youngest player in the event’s history.
He rose to prominence earlier this year following his role in the Netflix miniseries Adolescence.
The performance earned widespread praise and led to him winning a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe, making him the youngest recipient of both honours in their respective categories.
Now, attention turns from the screen to the pitch. Soccer Aid, which raises funds for UNICEF, regularly brings together former professionals and celebrities for one of the biggest charity fixtures in the football calendar.
For Cooper, it represents a new challenge in front of a packed London Stadium.

England Soccer Aid squad includes Wayne Rooney and Tom Hiddleston
England will be managed by Robbie Williams for the 2026 edition.
The squad already confirmed includes Joe Hart, Joe Marler, Angry Ginge, Tom Grennan, Tom Hiddleston, Damson Idris, Olly Murs, Wayne Rooney and Jill Scott.
The mix of former internationals and well-known entertainers has become a hallmark of the event.
Cooper will be the youngest among them when he steps onto the pitch on 31 May.
Soccer Aid continues to attract major names while supporting UNICEF’s global work.
