P-Hailing rider killed after falling tree crushes motorcycle in Melaka

A 22-YEAR-OLD p-hailing rider was killed this afternoon when his motorcycle was crushed by a falling tree along Jalan Tun Razak–Ayer Keroh, near Taman Delima Raya in Melaka.

The incident, which occurred at about 1.30pm, also left a 19-year-old woman driving a Perodua Myvi injured.

Melaka Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer, Deputy Superintendent II Mohd Hafidzatullah Rashid, said eight firefighters from the Ayer Keroh Fire and Rescue Station were deployed immediately after the alert was received.

"The Operations Response Team arrived within eight minutes and found a motorcycle crushed by a fallen tree. The team immediately carried out rescue work, including extricating the victim who was trapped beneath the tree.

"Cutting and clearing work was also undertaken to ensure the route was safe," he said in a statement.

He added that the deceased was handed over to Health Ministry personnel for further action, while the injured driver was transported to Melaka Hospital in an EMRS vehicle.

The operation concluded at 3.18pm. - December 6, 2025
