MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Tourism (DOT) said it remained committed to tapping P-pop girl group BINI as the country's tourism ambassadors as negotiations continued.
"They would be our ambassadors, so we are currently focused on our ongoing negotiations with them,” Tourism Secretary Bernardita Angara-Mathay said in an ambush interview on Friday.
The proposed partnership follows BINI's historic performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which further elevated the group's international profile.
The DOT believes BINI's global appeal can help strengthen the Philippines' tourism campaign and promote the country to more local and international travelers.
