A new P-pop group, oona., has entered the local music scene with the release of its debut single “Darama.”
The five-member act is composed of Isaki, Coleen, Bella, Jaylou and Kari, who describe the group as a mix of different personalities, styles and experiences brought together through music.
According to the group, the name “oona.” means “be one,” while the double “oo” represents their contrasting characters and voices that aim to create balance and harmony as a team.
The group said it hopes to present music rooted in personal experiences, while focusing on artistry, discipline and growth as performers.
Their debut track, “Darama,” is now available on major music streaming platforms. The song was composed and written by the members themselves.
The group said the track was inspired by the feeling of “kilig” or excitement tied to seeing long-held dreams come true. They described the song as reflecting their journey together, including the relationships and challenges they experienced while forming the group.
“What started as a simple emotion grew into something deeper: a song about finding the right people, holding on through challenges, and turning dreams into reality,” the group shared in a statement.
They added that “Darama” captures “that surreal moment when everything just feels natural and right.”
Calling the song their “first baby,” the members said it carries the same feeling they collectively share: “kilig, nadarama.”
