Tottenham are ready to increase their asking price for Toby Alderweireld.
The Belgian central defender has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for 25 million.
However, the clause is not active after July 26.
It means that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will be free to increase the asking price for the veteran centre-back to 40 million, per the Telegraph.
Manchester United are among the teams that have an interest in Alderweireld.
Roma also wanted to sign him, but were unable to find a financial solution to complete the deal.
If Alderweireld's clause expires, he is likely to stay at Spurs for the coming season.
