Southampton assistant manager Danny Rohl has decided to leave the club.

The Saints assistant, who has a longstanding relationship with boss Ralph Hasenhuttl, is heading to Bayern Munich.

Both clubs made an announcement regarding the 30-year-old, who will work as an analysis assistant reporting to Niko Kovac at the German giants.

Southampton issued a complimentary statement thanking Rohl for his service.

A statement on Bayern's official website read: "A new member of staff for FC Bayern head coach Niko Kovac and his team: Danny Rohl joins the German record champions' coaching staff with immediate effect as analysis assistant coach."
