PAC to hold sessions on health insurance premium hikes from Monday

PETALING JAYA: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will begin its closed-door proceedings regarding the increase in health insurance premiums, private hospital charges and their impact on public health from Monday.

PAC vice-chairman Teresa Kok said 10 proceedings had been scheduled on the issue, involving the finance ministry, the health ministry, Bank Negara Malaysia, NGOs and academics, Bernama reported.

AdvertisementThe PAC report will be presented during the June Dewan Rakyat session.

“The committee will call all relevant stakeholders,” she said after PAC’s public hearing session on the same issue at Parliament today.

The first session was held in Penang on Feb 14.
