Padang Terap hits heat wave level as 10 areas under caution

MetMalaysia warns of heat wave in Kedah’s Padang Terap, with 10 other areas at caution level as temperatures soar across Peninsular Malaysia.

PADANG TERAP: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has declared a Level 2 Heat Wave alert for Padang Terap in Kedah.

The declaration was issued after the area recorded daily maximum temperatures between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days.

Ten other areas across Peninsular Malaysia are under a Level 1 Caution alert.

These include the entire state of Perlis and multiple districts in Kedah and Penang.

The affected Kedah districts are Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Sik, Pulau Langkawi, Kuala Muda, Pendang, Baling and Bandar Baharu.

Penang’s Northeast district is also under the caution-level alert.

MetMalaysia defines the Caution Level as daily maximum temperatures between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days.
