MANILA, Philippines — Despite prevailing three weather systems, there is no threat of widespread rain in the country in the next 24 hours, the state-run weather agency Pagasa said on Monday.

However, the shear line, easterlies, and northeast monsoon (locally known as ‘amihan’) would bring isolated and scattered downpours or thunderstorms, especially during late afternoon or in the evening, weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

Aurelio added that the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa)  has not monitored any low-pressure area forming or entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility, at least, in the coming days.

The convergence of hot and cold air or the shear line has been affecting Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon, Pagasa said in its 5 a.m. advisory.

Amihan, meanwhile, would be experienced over Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley, where overcast skies with light rain showers would be likely.

The same weather system will affect Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Meanwhile, humid and warm weather brought by the easterlies would prevail over the rest of the country, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, the weather agency said.
