
PETALING JAYA: Pahang executive councillor Johari Harun was among the eight people on board the plane that crashed near Elmina, Selangor today.
Johari, the state local government, environment and green technology executive councillor, was also the Pelangai assemblyman and Bentong Umno chief.
His death was confirmed by Pahang state assembly speaker Sharkar Shamsudin in a Facebook post.
“Johari was in the plane that crashed at Elmina, Shah Alam. May God bless his soul. Al-Fatihah,” said Sharkar.

The driver of a car and a motorcyclist were also killed after being hit by the crashing plane.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) said there were six passengers and two crew members on board the plane.
CAAM said the Subang air traffic control tower observed smoke coming from the crash site at 2.51pm but the plane had not made a Mayday call.
