Sultan of Pahang says leaders must remain close to the people during holidays, praising open house turnout and calling for prayers on global conflict

TEMERLOH: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has underscored the demanding responsibility of state leadership, particularly during festive periods.

He stated that such seasons require leaders to remain close to the people, even on public holidays.

“Although Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a public holiday, we still need to work, meet the people, exchange greetings and seek forgiveness,” His Royal Highness said at an Aidilfitri open house in Lanchang.

The ruler expressed pride at the thousands of visitors attending the recent Istana and Menteri Besar’s open houses, viewing it as motivation to continue serving.

He also thanked Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail for organising the event and all the food providers.

“I feel proud to be here in Lanchang and to witness the strengthening of bonds among the community as people gather and enjoy the food together,” the Sultan added.

Al-Sultan Abdullah further stressed the importance of creating economic opportunities and employment for the people.

He concluded by calling on the public to pray for an end to the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, noting its global impact.

The Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, and members of the royal family were also in attendance.
