PAL suspends Riyadh routes over security concerns; CEB offers 4-day seat sale

(UPDATE) MANILA, Philippines — Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Thursday announced the cancelation of flights PR654 and PR655 (Manila-Riyadh-Manila) from Oct. 8 to Oct. 10, 2026, due to the developing situation in the region.

"Our operational teams are assessing airport conditions and their implications for subsequent flights. Affected passengers will be informed of the cancellations and available travel options," PAL said in a statement.

The temporary flights suspensions come amid escalating conflict and an evolving security situation in the Middle East. As a precautionary measure to guarantee passenger and crew safety, the airline cited operational uncertainties in certain regional airspace corridors and airport operations following localized military airstrikes and rsing regional tensions.

"We recognize the inconvenience and concern these cancelations may cause our passengers. We are continuously monitoring the situation to guide our next steps and support their travel needs," PAL said.

The airline management added that the safety and well-being of its passengers and crew remain of its highest priority. PAL stated that it would provide further updates as appropriate.
