MANILA, Philippines — Malacanang announced on Thursday that work in government agencies will be suspended starting at 1:00 pm on September 28 to commemorate "Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga" (Family Mealtime Matters) Day.
Memorandum Circular No. 136, signed by Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, covers all departments, bureaus, offices, and government-owned or -controlled corporations, as well as state universities and colleges.
Meanwhile, agencies handling the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital operations will continue functioning.
Proclamation No. 326 in 2012 designated the fourth Monday of September as Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day, while Proclamation No. 60, issued in 1992, set the last week of September as Family Week.
