MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos has declared March 20 a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr, Malacañang said on Thursday.

The announcement was made as the chief executive joined members of the Muslim community and leaders from across the country at the Grand Iftar in the Palace, reaffirming the government’s respect for the traditions and contributions of Muslim Filipinos.

The declaration recognizes the significance of Eid’l Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a period devoted to prayer, reflection, and fasting.
