MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Thursday said that the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte should proceed without political "drama", as the proceedings move to the presentation of evidence on her alleged misuse of confidential funds.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said that Filipinos expect the trial to remain focused on the issues instead of drama efforts to conceal the truth.
"We expect no drama, no concealment of the truth, and no evasion of the real issues being tackled in the impeachment trial," Castro said during a Palace press briefing.
"What our countrymen want is for the truth to come out, not drama inside the Senate," she added.
