Palace: No looming shakeup amid concerns over acting Cabinet appointments

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Friday said there was no looming shakeup in the Cabinet of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. amid concerns over the continued designation of several Cabinet officials in an acting capacity.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said that the names of secretaries would be submitted to the Commission on Appointments.

"We asked the President earlier – there is no rigodon (Cabinet reshuffle), and the names will be submitted to the Commission on Appointments the soonest possible," Castro said during a press conference.

Castro also said that Marcos was looking into the appointment of Environment Secretary RaphaelLotilla amid reports that he was on his way out.
