MANILA, Philippines— Malacañang slammed the camp of Vice President Sara Duterte for saying that she is ready to take on the presidency.
This comes after Duterte’s spokesman, Paolo Panelo, said that in case President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stepped down, Duterte is ready for the role.
In a press briefing on Thursday, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro questioned Panelo’s statement.
"Is this serious?" she said.
Castro earlier described Duterte’s call for Marcos to step down as "absolutely delusional."
