
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Friday assured the public that justice will be served to the family of a motorcycle taxi rider, who was stabbed by a passenger in a robbery in Caloocan City.
Cabinet Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. made the assurance during his visit to the wake of Move It rider Fabio Norberte Jr. to personally convey the condolences of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to the victim's family.
During the visit, Abalos assured Norberte's family that those responsible for the killing must be held accountable.
He said that the government would coordinate with the appropriate agencies to assist them and pursue justice in the case.
The Cabinet secretary also extended financial assistance to the family and assured them of the government's support in the wake of Norberte's death.
Abalos also committed to personally helping Norberte's child, who has autism, and said he would coordinate with the family to ensure the child receives continued support.
