MANILA, Philippines — Former Ako Bicol Party-list representative Zaldy Co is now seeking political asylum in France, Malacañang said Tuesday.
During a press conference, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said that Co was no longer in the Czech Republic and currently has a pending petition for political asylum in France.
"He has been requested to be transferred to and is now under jurisdiction of French authorities," Castro said.
She said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. would meet with Philippine ambassadors in Czech Republic and France to tackle Co's status.
