Palestine Action activists guilty of criminal damage over factory raid

  • Four Palestine Action activists have been found guilty of criminal damage after raiding an Israel-based defence firm's UK site in Bristol.
  • Charlotte Head, Samuel Corner, Leona Kamio, and Fatema Rajwani used a prison van to breach the Elbit Systems factory on 6 August 2024, causing an estimated £1 million in damage to equipment.
  • The activists stated their intention was to "dismantle drones and weaponry" that they believed would be used to kill people.
  • Samuel Corner was also convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Police Sergeant Kate Evans, fracturing her spine by striking her twice with a sledgehammer during the raid.
  • The convictions followed a retrial at Woolwich Crown Court, after a previous jury failed to reach verdicts on the criminal damage and GBH charges, despite acquitting the defendants of other charges.
