  • Palestinian mothers say severe hunger is preventing them from moving from Gaza City, as Israel has warned that the city will be destroyed unless Hamas agrees to its terms.
  • On Friday, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) said that famine is currently occurring in Gaza City, which is home to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.
  • The IPC further warned that the famine could spread south to Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis by the end of September.
  • Displaced Palestinian women, including Rabiha Abu Odeh, have stated they have nowhere to go and are too weak from lack of food and water to move, saying: “Death is better than displacement”.
