FOUR of the 48 individuals whose statements have been recorded in connection with the disappearance of Datin Seri Pamela Ling are officers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), according to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
He confirmed that police are investigating the case under Section 365 of the Penal Code, which pertains to the offence of kidnapping or abducting with intent to secretly and wrongfully confine a person.
“Jelutong (Member of Parliament RSN Rayer) asked about the latest developments in the investigation into Pamela Ling’s disappearance. We are investigating under Section 365, which is the offence of kidnapping or abducting a person with the intention of secretly and wrongfully confining them,” Saifuddin said during a parliamentary session.
“As of today, as I deliver this response, we have recorded statements from 48 witnesses, including four MACC officers who were directly involved in the investigation relating to Pamela,” he added.
The Home Minister stressed that the authorities are not compromising on any aspect of standard operating procedures and are working closely with other enforcement agencies to ensure a thorough and effective investigation.
“This case is still under investigation, and the investigation paper is being finalised by the investigating officer before it is submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions,” he said. - August 20, 2025
