BEAUFORT: An imperfect drainage system due to Pan Borneo Highway construction works caused the flash floods that hit Kampung Batu Enam, claimed a resident here.

The resident, Henry Yamie, claimed the inefficient drainage system would cause floods whenever a heavy downpour occurs.

“The Pan Borneo Highway contractor has been dredging here and there and did not finish the works but abandoned them,” he said.

He claimed that the abandoned work areas are now filled with overgrown grass, which blocked the drains.
