Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday termed the BJP’s win in the Panchkula Municipal Corporation polls as the endorsement of the party’s “development-oriented” governance model and the rejection of the Congress’ politics of “falsehood, misinformation and negativity”.

Targeting the Congress, he said the results showed that people gave preference to performance over mere rhetoric and hollow promises.

Saini made the remarks speaking during a felicitation ceremony in Panchkula.

He said with development as their priority, people chose to establish a “triple-engine government” this time, a term used to describe the rule of a party in the Centre, state and civic body simultaneously.

Saini said the overwhelming support extended to the BJP by the people of Haryana was a victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pro-poor welfare policies.

He said the poor, farmers, youth, women, traders, and employees across the country felt a sense of security and confidence under the leadership of the Prime Minister. He added that this growing trust among people was the key reason behind the BJP’s continuous electoral success across the nation.

He expressed confidence that in the Punjab elections early next year, people would repose their trust in the policies of Prime Minister Modi. Congratulating the winners of the MC polls, the Chief Minister urged them to live up to the hopes and aspirations of the public.

He said the manifesto released during the campaigning would be implemented in letter and spirit. TheCM said previous governments were known for making announcements but failed to translate them into reality, whereas his government had so far fulfilled 63 of 217 promises made during the Haryana Assembly elections.
