The dismissal order, dated April 23, was issued by Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, Vijayendra Kumar.

The Punjab State & Chandigarh (UT) Human Rights Commission has taken a suo motu notice of The Tribune report “Teen forcibly given drugs, dies”.

The commission passed orders based upon the report, which said a 16-year-old died after three youths forcibly administered an injection of drugs to him at Jhok Dipolana village. The commission, comprising chairperson Justice Sant Parkash, has called for report from the SSP, Fazilka before the next date of hearing on July 9.
