Panic on Ryanair flight as passenger ‘nearly sucked out of window’

  • A Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki to Memmingen on Friday morning experienced a dramatic incident when a passenger window dislodged mid-flight.
  • A 61-year-old Serbian passenger was partially sucked out of the broken window, reportedly up to his shoulders, and was held down by his wife and other passengers.
  • Witnesses described a loud bang, followed by cabin depressurisation and the deployment of oxygen masks, around an hour after takeoff.
  • The pilot returned the aircraft to Thessaloniki Airport, where the injured passenger was taken to hospital for treatment for friction burns and shock.
  • A replacement aircraft was arranged to transport the remaining passengers to Memmingen.
