
Sudhir Jakhar, an advocate of Panipat submitted a representation to the Election Commission of India for registration of ‘Cockroach Janta Party’ (CJP) as a political party under the Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act 1951 on Friday.
Advocate Sudhir Jakhar, who posed himself as National Convener of the CJP, in his representation, said that the proposed political movement has emerged as a people-centric, democratic initiative dedicated towards community service, constitutional awareness, social accountability, environmental protection, animal welfare, transparency in governance and promotion of Fundamental Duties under Article 51-A of the Constitution of India.
Jakhar further said that the CJP seeks to work peacefully and constitutionally for promotion of Fundamental Duties, strengthening democratic participation and public accountability, social audit of governance mechanism and public authorities, protection of environment, biodiversity, flora and fauna, prevention of cruelty against animals and promotion of humane practices; legal awareness regarding constitutional and statutory rights, encouraging community services, promotion of transparency, ethical administration and rule of law, safeguarding communal harmony, public order and supporting peaceful democratic reforms through lawful means.
