PETALING JAYA: Pansar Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM170.86 million subcontract for the second phase of the water infrastructure upgrade in Samalaju, Sarawak.
The subcontract was awarded by KKB Engineering Bhd for civil and structural works under the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE), according to Pansar’s filing with Bursa Malaysia.
The scope covers the construction and completion of buildings and infrastructure for a raw water intake facility with a capacity of 160 million litres per day (MLD), pumping mains, a 120 MLD water treatment plant and associated facilities.
The contract is scheduled to commence in November 2026 and run for 36 months.
The award follows KKB Engineering’s acceptance of a RM517 million contract from the government, through the Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda), on Sept 28 for the second phase of the Samalaju water supply infrastructure project.
KKB announced the award on Oct 1, with the project also scheduled for completion over 36 months.
The wider project is aimed at increasing Samalaju’s water treatment capacity from 80 MLD to 200 MLD to support industrial demand in the area, which is part of Sarawak’s broader efforts to develop energy-intensive industries under SCORE.
The latest subcontract represents about 33% of KKB’s RM517 million contract value.
The contract is expected to be executed over three years, with Pansar’s financial contribution recognised as work progresses.
