Panther killed along Jalan Tampin-Kuala Pilah stretch

A PANTHER was killed - believed to have been hit by a vehicle in Kampung Orang Asli Tering along Jalan Tampin-Kuala Pilah yesterday.

In a statement, Negri Sembilan Wildlife (Perhilitan) director Faizal Izham Pikri said they received information around 11pm that the panther, weighing between 40kg and 50kg, was found dead along the road.

He said the adult male black panther is believed to have been hit by a vehicle.

"An inspection at the scene also found collision marks on the road guardrail," he said.

The Malayan Tiger Conservation Unit of Negri Sembilan and Seremban Perhilitan later brought the carcass to the Negri Sembilan Perhilitan office. – February 11, 2025
