
PAPAR: Two Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) incumbents, Juil Nuatim and Ghulam Haidar Khan Bahadar, will defend their Limbahau and Kawang seats in the 17th Sabah State Election.
Juil, contesting as a direct GRS member, enters a nine-cornered race that includes Upko’s Nelson Angang, SAPP’s Edward Dagul, Warisan’s Roger Amandus, PKDM’s Malik Luman, PIS’s Joseph Philip Kulip, PN’s Adrian Alexander Alim and independents Linda Dunstan and Marcellus Tambud.
Ghulam, who has held Kawang for five terms, faces five challengers led by Papar Umno chief Jamal Nerubi of BN, alongside Warisan’s Nin Jelih, Star Sabah’s Beverly Natalie Koh and PIS’s Samail Bulongik.
In Pantai Manis, PGRS deputy head Pg Saifuddin Pg Tahir Petra is GRS’s new pick in a seven-cornered contest that includes former law minister Aidi Moktar, who returns under Warisan after losing the seat in 2020.
BN’s Redzuan Ismail, Star Sabah’s Richard Vitales, PN’s Faizal Julaili, PKDM’s Datu Mohamad Datu Tamin and PIS’s Mohamad Azzmi Ahmad complete the line-up, which Returning Officer Muhammad Mohd Ali confirmed at 12.51pm on Saturday.
