Kota Kinabalu: An 87-year-old woman took to the skies over Ranau on July 17 in order to convince her daughter, in her 50s and the latter’s husband that it was safe.
Whether she succeeded in doing so was not known but Madam Thong from Rawang, Selangor, certainly became the oldest person to have made a tandem with paraglide pilot Chris Lammert.
Paragliding is an adventurous recreational activity and aerial sport that involves the pilot sitting on a harness when flying using a glider, whereas tandem paragliding means the pilot has a passenger.
“I did not know about this but the registration staff will normally give cases like this to me (due to my expertise).
