The parents of a nine-year-old girl murdered in the Southport knife attack last summer have paid tribute to their daughter in their first live television interview.

Alice Aguiar’s parents Alex and Sergio gave their first interview to BBC Breakfast on Thursday (20 February) as they spoke of their fundraising for a new playground at her school, which will include a stage.

Alice who was just 16 months when she started dancing, was “born to be a star”, they said.
