Early years

Park Bo-young’s first stint in front of the camera was as a middle schooler when her seniors cast her as a doll in one of their short films, Equal (2005). In high school, she tried her luck in advertisements, her first being an ad for the South Korean company Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power.

The actor made her official debut in the Korean entertainment industry with the 2006 high school romance Secret Campus, co-starring Lee Min-ho. Following this, Park also landed the lead role in critically acclaimed shows like the period drama The King and I (2007) and the teen drama Jungle Fish (2008).

Park Bo-young made her big screen debut with one of the highest-grossing Korean movies of 2008, Scandal Makers. Co-starring Cha Tae-hyun, the comedy movie is directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol and recorded over a whopping USD 41 million at the global box office, according to Box Office Mojo. Born on 12 February 1990 in North Chungcheong, South Korea, Park always wanted to be associated with the entertainment industry. After graduating from Daeseong Girls’ Commercial High School, she majored in Theatre and Film from Dankook University’s Department of Performing Arts.
