PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has confirmed that he will soon meet with Chief Ministers, state leaders, and senior political figures to receive briefings on the current economic situation amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Speaking to the media after Friday prayers at Masjid Tengku Ampuan Jemaah in Bukit Jelutong, he said the briefings would be delivered by the National Security Council (Majlis Keselamatan Negara, MKN) and the National Economic Action Council (Majlis Tindakan Ekonomi Negara, MTEN).

“The outcome of these briefings will determine whether it is necessary to convene Parliament to examine and discuss the next steps,” the Prime Minister stated.

The planned consultations underscore the government’s proactive approach to assessing the economic impact of rising global energy prices, inflationary pressures, and trade disruptions linked to geopolitical tensions in West Asia. - March 27, 2026
