The Dewan Rakyat session is set to tackle important issues, including the targeted diesel subsidy and Malaysia's upcoming role as ASEAN Chair.

According to the agenda published on the Parliament's website, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin (PN-Larut) will pose a question to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister regarding the implementation of the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS). He seeks assurance from the government that the targeted fuel subsidy policy will not adversely impact the economic chain, potentially leading to price increases that could further burden the majority of people, particularly those in the M40 and B40 income groups.

Datuk Seri Amirudin bin Shari (PH-Gombak) is scheduled to inquire about the government's preparations for assuming the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025. He is keen to understand the goals and priorities that Malaysia aims to achieve during its tenure. Additionally, Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad Jan (PN-Permatang Pauh) will address the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister on the prevalence of fraudulent Umrah and Haj packages from 2019 to the present and the actions taken against agencies responsible for these scams.

In another pressing matter, Lee Chean Chung (PH-Petaling Jaya) will question the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister about the ministry's efforts in enhancing food safety and security. He is particularly interested in the role of technology and innovation in addressing these concerns.

Furthermore, Zahari Kechik (PN-Jeli) will seek an update from the Defence Minister on the status of the National Service Training Programme's re-implementation. This program, which has been a topic of significant interest, is being closely monitored for its potential impact on national security and youth development.

The session will also include a debate on the Auditor-General's Report Series 2 2024, which is expected to highlight critical findings and recommendations. Another key item on the agenda is the first reading of the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Bill 2024, a legislative measure aimed at strengthening data protection laws in Malaysia.

The second meeting of the third session of the 15th Parliament, which spans 15 days, will continue until July 18. This period is crucial for addressing various legislative and policy issues that impact the nation.
