According to several sources, the former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, who was previously sentenced to 12 years in prison and an RM210 million fine for misappropriating RM42 million from SRC International Sdn Bhd, has reportedly had his sentence reduced to 6 years, and his fine reduced to an unspecified amount.

Najib Razak has been granted a partial royal pardon regarding his involvement in the 1MDB case and as a result, he is expected to serve until August 2028. However, speculation suggests that with good behaviour, he could be eligible for parole as early as August 2026.

Despite recent rumours circulating about his supposed full royal pardon and subsequent release, we hope to receive an official statement by the Pardons Board.
